Firm’s Business, Real Estate, Estate Planning and Taxation Practice Groups Expanded with Arrival
Dan Findley has joined Helsell Fetterman, and will practice in the firm’s Business, Real Estate, Estate Planning & Probate, Taxation and Intellectual Property practice groups. Dan brings almost 20 years of experience advising individuals, family-owned businesses and closely held corporations on business, tax, real estate and intellectual property matters. He regularly provides general business counsel to closely held, family-owned businesses and investors during all phases of the business life cycle – new business start-up, growth & expansion, maturity and exit / succession planning.
Dan also counsels clients regarding business and real estate acquisitions, sales and investments. Transactions include asset or stock purchases / sales of closely held and family-owned corporations, angel and venture capital investments, business structure and financing. Dan also enjoys assisting clients with estate, trust and tax matters, whether through advance planning or after the passing of a loved one. Frequently, Dan finds that he is called upon to assist international clients with their U.S. estate and tax planning.
Dan’s Intellectual Property practice includes matters involving IP protection, Trademarks, Copyrights, Infringement Actions and Licensing.
A native of Ohio, Dan received his B.S. in Finance from Ashland University before attending the University of Akron where he received both his J.D. and Masters of Taxation in 1997. While at the University of Akron, Dan was Assistant Editor of the Akron Law Review and Akron Tax Journal. Dan then proceeded to practice for the next sixteen years in Ohio, rising to be a named partner at Harpster, Vanosdall & Findley LLP before relocating to Washington 2013. Prior to joining Helsell Fetterman, Dan was Of Counsel at Mills Meyers Swartling in Seattle.
