Helsell Fetterman Welcomes Naomi Ahsan
Naomi Ahsan has joined Helsell Fetterman’s medical malpractice and litigation groups.
Naomi joins Helsell Fetterman from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services where she worked with Administrative Law Judges adjudicating Medicare Appeals. Prior to that she was an associate with a D.C. firm in their national and international food and drug law practice groups.
Naomi graduated from American University Washington College of Law, cum laude, in 2016, where she was a Public Interest and Public Service Scholar. While in law school, she interned in the U.S. Supreme Court and worked as a summer associate in the U.S. Justice Department Civil Division Commercial Litigation Branch. She was a member of the Moot Court and Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Societies, and she was recognized as the Best Oral Advocate at the 2016 Willem C. Vis Moot Court Competition in Hong Kong. She served on the staff for the Administrative Law Review and Health Law and Policy Brief. Upon graduation, Naomi received the Dean’s Award for Professional Responsibility based on outstanding performance as a student attorney in the Disability Rights Clinic. Prior to law school, she graduated from the University of Rochester College of Arts, Sciences and Engineering with a BS in Neuroscience.
Naomi is a former EMT and is an older sibling to two physicians. During her undergraduate studies she worked in medical research. Her education, love of science, hands on experience and personal connection to medicine provide her with a unique perspective to Health Care law.
