Helsell Fetterman Welcomes Nicholas Harper-Smith
Business and Real Estate Practice Groups Strengthened with Hire
Nicholas Harper-Smith has joined Helsell Fetterman as an Associate and will practice in the firm’s business transactions and real estate practice groups. Nick is in his ninth year of delivering a broad range of transactional legal services to clients, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, joint ventures, corporate governance and general corporate matters. He has also assisted clients in alternative investments in a variety of fund types for public and private institutional investors. At Helsell Fetterman, he will continue to focus on delivering a broad range of transactional services to individual and business clients.
Nick has practiced in Washington for the past two years following a move from New York, where he entered private practice in 2010. In New York, Nick was an associate in the law firms of Baker & McKenzie LLP and Ropes & Gray LLP. Prior to entering private practice, Nick was a law clerk for the Honorable Christopher Sontchi in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Delaware.
Nick received his B.A., summa cum laude, from Wheaton College (Massachusetts) in 2005, where he was a Presidential Scholar all four years. He then received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 2008.
