Sarah Elerson Graduates from the Washington Leadership Institute
Sarah Elerson graduated from the Washington Leadership Institute (WLI), a collaboration between the Washington State Bar Association and the University of Washington School of Law. WLI is an intensive, eight-month program that requires a commitment to rigorous curriculum. The mission of WLI is to recruit, train and develop minority and traditionally underrepresented attorneys for future leadership positions in the bar and community. The program’s goal is to have a class that reflects the full diversity of our state. WLI’s curriculum consists of three components:
- Sessions: The program is composited of eight educational sessions which run from January through August. Sessions vary in length from one to two days
- Community Service Project: Each class develops and executes a community service project
- Service: Upon completion of the program, each Fellow commits to one year of participation in the Washington State Bar Association or other law-related organizations in some capacity, be it on a WSBA section or committee, or as a participant in a bar or community-related activity
